Rechhang Falls, Khagrachari

Khagrachari is one of the most naturally rich area with hills, forests, falls, the life of inhabitants and spectacular landscapes in Bangladesh. If you are a photographer you have so many subjects,if you are a tourist you have so many spots to visit. You can go Alu-tila (mysterious cave), Risang falls, dhiginala, marissa etc. there are so many places to explore. Tourism business is not very much organized in this country not by government and private sector and if it develops sometime khagrachari will acclaim exorbitant encomium from worldwide tourists. The biggest fall which is called risang had been identified last year 2008 and so many falls are on waiting to identify. This area is also safe for wild animals and you can see sometime groups of wild elephants are passing the road while you are driving your car. Here the parjatan motel is also one of best parjatan motel in Bangladesh. They can provide you good environment to stay, garden, small lake, nearby river, good healthy food to enjoy. It is very calm and quiet place that you would to stay longer.

General Information:

Rechhang is one of the popular tourist destination of Khagrachori. Reasang bus stoppage is available around 10 km before Khagrachori town on Chitagong – Khagrachori highway. From there one have to go another 2.1 km to Reach Rechhang Water Falls.

How to go:

There are several bus services which can take you – Saudia, S.Alam, Shanti and Dolphin. They left Dhaka for Khagrachori every night. Bus fare is 520 taka. Reasang bus stoppage is around 10 km before Khagrachori town on Chitagong – Khagrachori highway. From there one has to go another 2.1 km to Reach Rechhang Water Falls. Any one can get down from the bus at Rechhang Bus Stoppage. Or can go there from Khagrachori town by using other transportation. Available local transports are – Chander Gari, CNG scoter or Bus.

There are also services from Chitagong. The bus fare is 200- 240 taka .

Restaurant are available at Khagrachori town. Only couple of tea stall is available at Rechhang Bus stoppage.

Tips/advise for traveller:

As there are no restaurants, one may carry some food.

Sleeping down from the tor of the walls can be dangerous.

Can take some extra cloth.

Interesting place around: The Chara that take water of the Rechhang Falls, Alutila, Debota Pukur.
